Logger file
The JSON file logger is the one external logger in the tree.
How to read the tables
Sample is the value in the C sample file. In the port says whether the Rust source mentions the key as a string (read) or not (not found). It is a grep, not a proof: a key that is "read" may be read only in some modes, and a key that is "not found" is accepted and ignored with a warning, as the compatibility notes describe.
JSON file logger
File: janus.logger.jsonlog.jcfg in the configs folder. Sample: conf/janus.logger.jsonlog.jcfg.sample in the C repo.
This configures the JSON-based file logger. This is a very simple logger with no particular advantage over the existing, integrated, logging functionality Janus provides, and so it's configuration is quite basic as well: it's here mostly to provide a reference implementation for developers willing to provide additional, and more complex, external loggers.
general
| Key | Sample | Meaning | In the port |
|---|---|---|---|
enabled | false | By default the module is not enabled | read |
json | "compact" | Since this logger simply writes each log line as a JSON object to a file, you can configure whether the JSON log lines should be indented (pretty), plain (no indentation) or compact (no indentation and no spaces) | read |
filename | "/tmp/janus-log.json" | Filename to save to | read |
